Women's Tennis Drops Two Matches in Upstate New York

West Point, NY - The Sacred heart women's tennis team dropped two matches over the weekend, when they traveled to upstate New York to take on Army and Binghamton, dropping both matches 4-3.

Gabi Kaldan (New Brunswick, NJ) and Lindsey Post (Danbury, CT) were the only two Pioneers to win both of their matches over the weekend. Kaldan persevered in a tough three setter against Army's Della Taylor, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5. She then went on to win in straight sets over Katherine Medianick of Binghamton, 6-4, 7-6 (6). Post defeated Alyssa Gleason of Army, 6-2, 7-5, and then earned a 6-4, 6-4, win over Binghamton's Alexis Tashino.

SHU also got wins from Katie DeRienzo (Douglaston, NY) and Nicole Rydzewski (Maspeth, NY).

The Pioneers were unable to win a doubles match in either match.

Sacred Heart is in action next on February 16^th against St. Peter's at Yale.
