PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Katie Marshall broke her own school record in the 200-yard butterfly for the second straight week as she finished second with a time of 2:03.27 as the Sacred Heart University swimming team competed at the ECAC Championship at the University of Pittsburgh.
Marshall, a senior from Cumberland, R.I., also broke her own record in the 100-fly as she hit the wall in a time of 58.28 in a 12th place finish.
The Pioneer 200-yard medley relay team consisting of freshman Nicole Del Nero (Spring Lake Heights, N.J.), junior Laurie Casado (Queens, N.Y.), freshman Liz Bennett (Fairbanks, Alaska), and sophomore Rachel McGrath (Dorchester, Mass.) set a new team record with a time of 1:53.06.
The 400 medley relay team also scored with a time of 4:08.59. Sophomore Meg Bellamy (Barrington, R.I.), Casado, Marshall, and McGrath swam for SHU.
In the 400-yard individual medley, junior Meghan Bailey (Walpole, Mass.) finished 14th with a time of 4:41.77. She also swam the 200 IM in 2:13.76.
The Pioneers return to the pool for the Connecticut Senior Invitational March 3-6.
