For the second straight week junior Nicole Sidor (West Vancouver, BC) has earned at least a share of the Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Week award. Sidor pitched at least two innings in all four of the Pioneers games this weekend as SHU compiled a 3-1 record. The right hander tossed a complete game shutout versus Mount St. Mary's in game one of a double header and came back with three scoreless innings in game two to pick up the save.
Sidor finished the first weekend of league play with a 0.79 ERA and racked up 16 strikeouts over her 18 innings of work. She leads the SHU pitching staff with seven wins in 2012 and an ERA of 1.70. The Pioneers return to action tomorrow afternoon for a non-conference double header against UConn.
