Late Goal Spells 1-0 Loss for SHU at Army Soccer Classic

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Senior forward Tori Burchett collected a loose ball in the box and put it in the back of the net with just three minutes to play, thus handing the Sacred Heart University women's soccer team a 1-0 loss to St. Bonaventure in the Army Soccer Classic.  The loss dropped the Pioneers to 2-2-1, while the Bonnies improved to 4-2-0.

The two sides played an even first half, with each team attempting three shots.  In the second half, SBU held a 6-1 advantage in shots.

For SHU, junior goalkeeper Sydney Judkins (South Park, Pa.) made four saves, while allowing the one goal.  At the opposite end, sophomore Megan Junker stopped a pair of shots for the shutout victory.

With the exception of Tuesday night's tie at Yale, every game has featured a game-tying or deciding goal in the final five minutes of regulation.  In each of the first three occasions, Sacred Heart either scored the game-winner or forced overtime.
