Yale (2-4-0) made its way onto the scoreboard first with an icebreaking goal 11:09 into the game. Miyuki Hino finished a cross from Becky Brown to put her team ahead early. The Pioneers held off the Bulldogs for 20 minutes before Natalie Romine slotted home a rebound to double the Yale advantage. Sacred Heart (4-3-1) improved its offense in the second half mounting six shots but was unable to get one past Yale goaltenders Ayana Sumiyasu and Adel Jackson-Gibson. The Bulldogs rounded out the scoring 4:45 into the second half on a marker from Megan Ashforth.
