(Boston, MA) – Melissa Robbins (Nashua, NH) scored for the fourth straight game, helping lead the Sacred Heart Women's Hockey team to a 4-1 against Wesleyan Tuesday afternoon in the consolation game of the Codfish Bowl, hosted by UMass-Boston.
Alex Davis (Pembroke, MA) opened the scoring for SHU at 5:55 of the first, with Brianna Connolly (Duxbury, MA) getting the assist. Robbins followed that with an unassisted goal at 13:59 for her third goal of the tournament en route to being named to the all-tournament team.
After a scoreless second, Jordan Schildhaus scored 29 seconds into the third on a power play goal set up by Rebecca Snelling and Becca Koppel. However, SHU came right back with a shorthanded goal by Sara Hanna (Lino Lakes, MN)at 1:23. Nicole Palazzo (Rocky Hill, CT) added insurance at 9:46 on a goal set up by Maura Leahy (Ashburnham, MA).
Alexius Schutt (Elk River, MN) made 41 saves, including 19 in the third period, for the victory.
The Pioneers are back in action this weekend when they host Neumann in a two-game series beginning Saturday night at 7:00 pm at the Wonderland of Ice.
