Women’s Golf Completes First Round of Brown Bear Invitational

Round One Results

BARRINGTON, R.I. – The Sacred Heart women's golf team completed the first round of the Brown Bear Invitational Sunday at the Rhode Island Country Club in 14th place.

Junior Jennifer Clinton (Sayville, N.Y.) was the Pioneers' top finisher, placing tied for 41st with an 83 over the par-72 course. Brianna Carnahan (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) shot an 87, putting her tied for 64th after the first round. Malin Wallhede (Molnlycke, Sweden) is tied for 70th after carding an 88, and Gabriella Riber (Stockholm, Sweden) rounded out Sacred Heart's scoring group with a 92.

As a team, the Pioneers finished the day one stroke behind Quinnipiac for 13th place. Yale leads Harvard by three strokes after the opening round, with Columbia, Seton Hall, and LIU Brooklyn rounding out the top five.

The final round begins Monday morning.
