WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Sacred Heart women's golf team completed the opening round of the C&F Bank Intercollegiate on Sunday tied for 22nd place out of 28 teams at the Kingsmill River Course.
The Pioneers tied with Hartford as both teams finished the first round with scores of 344, 60-over par. Boston College leads the team competition after the opening round, followed by Longwood, Wofford, Gardner-Webb and Richmond. Gabriella Riber (Stockholm, Sweden) was Sacred Heart's top scorer on the day, posting an 81 on the par-71 course that put her tied for 54th. Brianna Carnahan (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) shot an 84 to put her 92nd.
Sacred Heart is back in action for the second round Monday morning.
