Pioneers Hold on to Third After Day Two of NEC Championships
DAYTONA, FL (April 28, 2012) - The Sacred Heart women's golf team shot a team score of 317 on Saturday to remain in third place at the 2012 Northeast Conference Championship in Daytona, Florida. The Pioneers are 15 strokes off the lead heading into Sunday's final round.
The Fairleigh Dickinson Knights continues to sit atop the leaderboard with a 307 on Saturday for a two-day score of 612. LIU Brooklyn sits in second at 621 after a 313 on Saturday.
SHU junior Gabriella Riber (Stockholm, Sweden) fired an evan par 72 on the 6,030 yard LPGA International Champions Course on Saturday. Her two day score of 150 vaulted her up to fourth place. Senior Carly Bergin (Binghamton, CT) sits tied for sixth place with a two-day score card of 154. Classmate Michelle Riber (Stockholm, Sweden) is tied for 17th at 160 on the leaderboard.
LIU's Cristina Felip holds a three-stroke lead after shooting a two-under 70 on Saturday. Felip posts a 143 (-1) to lead FDU's Esther Park who has a 147 two-day score. Teammate Annika Karlsson shot a 72 on Saturday and sits at 149 after 36 holes.
The final round will tee off on Sunday morning.
