Williamsburg, VA – The Sacred Heart Women's golf team traveled to Williamsburg, Virginia over the weekend to compete in the C&F Bank Women's Intercollegiate Golf Tournament.
The Pioneers finished in 15th place overall but finished only behind Central Connecticut State among Northeast Conference schools competiting. The Pioneers finished above NEC rivals St. Francis (PA), Quinnipiac, Monmouth, and Mount St. Mary's.
Carly Bergin (Binghamton, NY) led the team with a three round score of 239 (+26) finishing tied for 43rd overall. Michelle Riber (Stockholm, Sweden) rebounded from an opening round 88 to finish 2nd for the Pioneers with a score of 248 (+35). Brianna Carnahan (Port Jefferson, NY) finished with a three-day score of 251 (+38) finishing right behind Riber. Claire McGovern (Escondido, CA) finished tied for 83rd with a three-day score of 260 (+47). Gabrielle Riber (Stockholm, Sweden) finished just one stroke behind McGovern with a three-day total of 261 (+48).
The Pioneers return to action on March 26th at the Spider Women's Intercollegiate Golf tournament in Richmond, VA.
