Field Hockey Loses 2-0 at La Salle

(Philadelphia, PA) – The Sacred Heart Field Hockey team fell to the La Salle Explorers 2-0 Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia in the Pioneers' final non-conference game of the season. 

Maddy Tettlebach opened the scoring 4:02 into the game with an unassisted goal, grabbing a rebound and scoring on a long shot.  It took until the 54:43 mark for the Explorers to score again, when Olivia Shoemaker found a ball trickle across the crease and scored on the doorstep. 

Mary Altepeter (Chesterfield, MO) made eight saves for the Pioneers.  Her counterpart, Lisa Schaffer, made six saves to earn the shutout.  La Salle outshot SHU 16-7.

Sacred Heart begins NEC play next Sunday afternoon at home against the Quinnipiac Bobcats at 12:00 pm.
