Head coach Chris Blais recently released the 2010 field hockey schedule. The Pioneers will open their 2010 campaign with a pair of road exhibition games against Hofstra and Massachusetts-Lowell. The regular season starts with SHU on a four game road swing as they take on Lehigh, West Chester, Yale, and Hofstra.
Sacred Heart opens their home schedule September 10 and 12 with games at Campus Field against Fairfield and Holy Cross, respectively. The Pioneers then have two additional road non-conference tilts with Drexel and Bucknell as they gear up for the NEC portion of the schedule. SHU then opens their conference slate September 26 with an away contest at Lock Haven.
October 10 will be the Pioneers first home conference game
as they welcome rival Quinnipiac to Fairfield, CT. The
Pioneers then have their last non-conference game of 2010 at home
against Davidson. SHU then plays back-to-back NEC
home matches with Monmouth and Rider. Sacred Heart then
takes to the road with three straight games away from Campus Field
versus Robert Morris, Saint Francis (PA), and Siena. The
regular season finale will be October 31 at home against Bryant,
including senior day festivities before the action.
The 2010 NEC tournament will take place November 5-6 at the home of the #1 seed.
