(Fairfield, CT) - On Wednesday, March 30, the Sacred Heart Field Hockey team sponsored their fifth annual Bone Marrow Donor Drive, registering 230 people to the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry.
"This was our 5th annual bone marrow donor drive and the most donors we have ever signed!" said SHU field Hockey head coach Chris Blais. "I am touched by the amount of support we received by the Sacred Heart community and am proud of my team for their efforts. We are lucky to be surrounded by such a caring community and I feel lucky to have such a selfless group of individuals on my team. We are hopeful that our efforts provide as many people as possible with donors!"
By joining the Marrow Registry, potential donors can help save lives worldwide by donating bone marrow to patients who are match and in need of a bone marrow transplant.
