Pioneers Shut Out Siena 3-0

(Loudenville, NY) - Chelsea Carlson (Peterborough, NH) scored her first goal and added two assists, and Kim Stow (Norwalk, CT) stopped both shots she faced for her third shutout of the season in the Sacred Heart field hockey team's 3-0 win over Siena Friday afternoon.

Carlson set up Lindsay Kasten (Fair Haven, NJ) for her team-leading seventh goal of the season just 8:11 into the game.  Kasten has scored in three consecutive games, and has tallied the winning goal in three of Sacred Heart's four wins this season.

Carlson gave the Pioneers a 2-0 lead to take into halftime by scoring off her own rebound on a penalty corner at the very end of the first half.  She helped set up an insurance goal thanks to a great effort by Leah Salindong (Spring City, PA) who scored her first of the year when she connected on a diving shot off Carlson's pass at the 69:04 mark.

The Pioneers close out their season on Senior Day at Campus Field when they host Bryant for a 3:00 p.m. Halloween afternoon game.  Pre-game ceremonies honoring the five Pioneer seniors will begin at 2:45 p.m.
