Carbonetto in Second Place at Team USA Trials

Jackie Carbonetto (Blauvelt, N.Y.) of the Sacred Heart Women's Bowling team sits in second place heading into the final day of the Team USA Trials in Henderson, Nev. The senior currently has 39 points after three rounds, eight points behind leader Diandra Asbaty and three in front of  third place Sarah Lokker.

The players in the field earn points based on their finishing position in each round. The top three men and top three women after five rounds of qualifying will be guaranteed spots on Team USA in 2013 and will bowl in the stepladder finals Monday night for the right to be declared champion, a spot in the QubicaAMF World Cup and prize money. Two more men and two more women from the event will be selected to join Team USA, while five men and five women will be selected from a pool of eligible bowlers based on their bowling resumes and Trials performance, if they competed. 

Today, the fourth round of the event will be contested on the 44-foot London pattern. All rounds of the Team USA Trials are being broadcast live on's BowlTV.

Over the summer, Carbonetto earned herself a spot on the 2013 Junior Team USA coming in second at the 2012 North Pointe Junior Gold Championship sponsored by Brunswick.
