Bowling Tabbed to Finish Third in National Powerhouse Northeast Conference

The 2011-12 Northeast Conference preseason coaches' poll has slated the Pioneers, who finished the 2010-11 season ranked tenth in the nation, to finish third in the upcoming campaign.  Sacred Heart received three first-place votes while defending league champion Fairleigh Dickinson claimed four first-place nods, but sit in second in the poll.  Kutztown earned the final three first-place votes and is the preseason favorite to win the Northeast Conference after making its first trip to the NCAA Tournament last year.

New Jersey City, Adelphi, and St. Francis (NY) all rank in the NCAA top 15 and occupy the fourth, fifth, and sixth spots on the poll, respectively.  Long Island took the seventh spot in the preseason prediction, just ahead of the eight place tie between Monmouth and Saint Francis (PA).  Saint Peter's rounds out the 2011-12 NEC preseason poll in tenth despite receiving votes in the final national poll of 2010-11.

Sacred Heart returns numerous starters from last season, including the NTCA National Rookie of the Year and second team All-American Nicole Trudell (Coventry, RI).  The Pioneers kick-off the season on November 4 at the New Jersey Jamboree hosted by Fairleigh Dickinson.
