Fairfield, Conn.—Blair Koniszewski of the Sacred Heart women's basketball team is joining the Global Sports Academy this summer for its 2012 Summer Collegiate Basketball Tour. The rising-junior will play in Belgium and Germany this August along with fellow NCAA Division I players.
The Global Sports Academy is a non-profit organization that promotes international goodwill through sports. GSA started competing internationally in hockey in 1991 and has since grown to support 12 sports that compete in 25 countries.
Koniszewski closed her sophomore campaign with the Pioneers averaging 7.6 points per game and a 29.6 field goal percentage. Known for her quick hands outside the arc, the guard led the league for most of the season in three-pointers made. She finished the season knocking down 65-of-224 for a 29.0 three-point field goal percentage. Koniszewski played in all 33 games last season, and got her first collegiate start on January 28 in Sacred Heart's 72-54 rout of Mount St. Mary's
