Men's Track & Field finish 5th overall with 7 Athletes earning "All New England" Honors

Boston, MA.- The Sacred Heart men finished 5th of 31 teams with a total of 38 points. Trevor Guerrera, Connor Rog, Sophomore Quaheem Dufane, Joshua Beloff, Sebastian Pierre, Michael Kearns and Christian Turner earn "All-New England" honors, associated with the top 8 finishers in each event.

After taking the individual New England title in the 1000 meters in last years championships, junior Trevor Guerrera continued this seasons success by taking the title in the 800 meters. After qualifying for the final with an IC4A time in Friday's preliminary round, he ran the 2nd fastest time of his career, 1:48.99, to best his competitors at the finish line of the final round.

Connor Rog also captured a New England title as he beat out his competitors by more than 5 seconds in the 3000 meters. His time of 8:23.64 is his 2nd fastest performance this season, and is under next weekends IC4A qualifying time of 8:25.00.

Sophomore Quaheem Dufane took 3rd in the 60 meter dash final round, while running a new personal best of 6.93 seconds. The time secures him a spot at next weekends IC4A Championship.

Joshua Beloff earned a spot in the 200 meter final after running a time of 22.25 seconds in the preliminaries on Friday. Ranked 6th going into Day 2, Beloff finished 4th overall in the finals.

Sebastian Pierre finished 6th in the 400 meter final, finishing in a time of 49.57 seconds and grabbing 3 points for the Sacred Heart men.

Both Michael Kearns and Christian Turner nabbed points for the men in the shot put. Kearns was 6th with a mark of 50-05.25 ft, while Turner was 8th with a new personal best of 49-7.75 ft.

The Pioneers will wrap up the season at the ICAAAA Championships next weekend, held at Boston University.
