FAIRFIELD, CT - Sacred Heart senior Jeremey Rosado (Brooklyn, NY) and freshman Sara Isaacson (Aberdeen, NJ) took home a pair of Northeast Conference Indoor Track & Field weekly awards announced on Tuesday. Rosado was named the NEC Track Athlete of the Week while Isaacson earned the NEC Rookie of the Week award.
The top returning hurdler in the NEC turned in one of the nation's top times during his first competition of the 2012-13 indoor season. Rosado raced to a first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at the CTC Relay Carnival, crossing the line in 8.26. The winning time, which currently ranks 17th in all of NCAA Division I, stands one one-hudredth of a second off the qualifying standard for the IC4A Championships. Rosado claimed second at the 2012 NEC Indoor title meet, producing a final round time of 8.10.
Isaacson accounted for a second-place showing during her collegiate debut at the CTC Relay Carnival. The first-year Pioneer cleared 3.15m (10' 4") to claim the silver medal in a field of 10 entrants. Her season-opening height makes her a threat to score when the 2013 NEC Indoor Championships roll around in February. Had she cleared 3.15m at last year's conference title meet, she would have won the bronze.
