(West Long Branch, NJ) – The Sacred Heart Women's Track and Field team took second (132 points) and the Men's Track and Field placed third (120 points) in the Northeast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, with host Monmouth winning both the Men's and Women's titles (143.5 points and 185 points respectively).
Jeremy Rosado was named the NEC Most Outstanding Track Performer and the Most Valuable Performer. The sophomore won gold in both the 110m and 400m hurdle races, qualifying for the IC4A Championships with times of 14.49 and 53.35. Bertony Jean-Louis finished second in Men 110 Meter Hurdles with a time of 14.52, also qualifying for the IC4A.
Athalia Smith set an NEC record in the Women Hammer Throw, recording a toss of 58.31m in qualifying for the ECAC. She also placed seventh in Women Shot Put with a throw of 12.28m. Chauntal Smith finished fourth in Women Hammer Throw with a throw of 48.90m.
Lindsay Aponte took first in the Women Shot Put, qualifying for the ECAC with a toss of 14.10m. Carol Cress placed second with a throw of 13.25m.
Christine Middleton placed second in Women Discuss Throw with a toss of 41.55m, with Kolbi Smith and Joselyn Henry finishing sixth and eighth respectively with throws of 38.61m and 37.93. Middleton also placed sixth in Women Hammer Throw with a toss of 47.18m.
Jeffrey Lusignan won the gold in the Men 1500 Meter Run, finishing with a time of 3:54.91. Andrew Houghtalen came in fourth with a time of 3:57.96. Lusignan also placed fifth in Men 5000 Meter Run with a time of 15:06.32.
Chase Petrucci qualified for the IC4A in the Men Shot Put with a toss of 15.92m. Marc Troiani placed third in Men Discuss Throw with a toss of 46.56. In Men Hammer Throw, Mark Conklin, Christopher Mahl, and Matthew Wagner all earned points. Conklin came in third (50.67m), Mahl took sixth (49.53m), and Wagner came in seventh (47.94m). In Men Javelin Throw, Daniel Pepitone took fifth (53.94m) and Zachary Martin came in seventh (53.56m).
Kwame Banahene placed eighth in the Men 100 Meter Dash with a time of 11.65, while Houghtalen came in eighth in Men 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:15.23.
In the Women 1500 Meter Run, Brittany Llobell and Kimberly DeLoreto finished fourth and fifth respectively with times of 4:44.87 and 4:45.25. DeLoreto also placed fifth in the Women 5000 Meter run with time of 18:12.06, while Brittney Lane took seventh with a time of 18:21.03. Megan Papp took fourth in the Women 10000 Meter Run with a time of 38:44.16.
Koehler, Houghtalen, Lusignan, and Patrick Peterson placed third in Men 4x800 with an IC4A qualifying time of 7:42.14.In the Men 1500 Meter Run, the team of Jean-Louis, Banahene, Barrett, and Rosado came in seventh with a time of 43.18.
Brandon Hutchinson took second in Men Triple Jump with a leap of 14.38m, as well as eighth in Men Long Jump with a leap of 6.92m. Nicholas Phillips and Drayke Jackson took sixth and eighth in Men Triple Jump, with respective leaps of 13.70 and 13.68. Daniel Galanto finished fourth in Men Pole Vault with a leap of 4.30m.
Bonnie Kilis took third in the Women 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 1:02.68 and also finished fifth in the Women 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 14.87. She also finished sixth in the Women High Jump with a leap of 1.64m, followed by Sarana Hyatt in seventh with a jump of 1.61m. Kilis also earned points with a sixth-place Women Javelin Throw of 37.96m.
Brittany Battis came in second in Women Pole Vault with a vault of 3.30m. Ashley Matakevich placed third in the Women Long Jump, recording a 5.60m leap. Joselyn Henry placed sixth in the same event with a jump of 5.51m. Matakevich also placed fifth in the Women Triple Jump with an 11.48m leap.
In the Women 3000 Meter Steeplechase, Brianna Castrogivanni placed sixth with a time of 11:44.21, while Michelle Navarro came in eighth with a time of 11:53.53.
The Women 4x100 Meter Relay team of Angelica Johnson, Seanne Denny, Nicole Scicolone, and Julian Cappadona came in fifth with a time of 48.12. Kilis, Catherine Westby, Katelyn Racanelli, and Brigid Paddock took eighth in the Women 4x400 Meter Relay. In the Women 4x800, the team of Catherine Westby, Castrogivanni, Paddock, and Llobell finished seventh with at time of 9:34.28.
