
MANASQUAN, NJ - The Sacred Heart men's team posted a 4-3 Northeast Conference win at Monmouth on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers won the doubles point and split the six singles matches to even the NEC record at 2-2.
Senior Kirill Kasyanov (Yonkers, NY) won his 10th-straight singles match by beating Laurence Heads 7-5, 6-1 at #1 singles. Kasyanov and junior Chadd Sullo (Orange, CT) teamed up to win 9-8 over Heads and Ian Terpilowski at #1 doubles. The team of seniors Jinal Shah and Nick Mazzarese (Stonington, CT) also won 9-8 at #3 doubles to win the point.
Sullo won at #5 singles beating Terpilowski, 6-4, 7-6 and senior Jacob Miller (West Chesterfield, NH) gave SHU the win with a comeback win at #6 singles over Stephen Suboleski. Miller lost the first set, 6-4, but rebound to win 6-4, 6-4.
The Pioneers will play host to Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 pm.
