Three Pioneers Named to NEILA Senior Scholar Athlete Team
AMHERST, Mass. – Seniors Trevor Dauses (Glen Arm, Md.), Shane Foley (South Brunswick, N.H.), and Matt King (Brewster, N.Y.) of the Sacred Heart men's lacrosse team have been named to the 2013 Division I All-New England Senior Scholar Athlete Team, as announced by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.
The Scholar Athlete Team acknowledges graduating seniors who have earned over a 3.0 grade point average and have excelled on the field. King, a Media Studies major, led the Pioneers with 29 goals this past season and was second on the team with 40 points. Foley, a Biology major, had a career-high 19 goals and a team-high five man-up goals while scoring in each of the first 11 games of the season. Dauses, an Accounting major, scored seven goals in his senior season.
Sacred Heart reached the Northeast Conference tournament for the first time in 2013, marking the Pioneers' first postseason appearance since 2001.
