Josh Salah Wins Rhody Invitational; Pioneers Finish Second
PORTSMOUTH, RI (April 15, 2012) - Sacred Heart junior Joshua Salah (Gloucester, MA) took home the individual title at the Rhody Invitational this weekend at the Green Valley Country Club. Salah led the Pioneers to a second place finish at the event.
The Pioneers shot a two-day score of 607, shooting a 305 on day one and a 302 on day two. Fordham University won the event with a score of 604, topping the seven team field.
Salah won the 36-hole event with a two-round score of 144 on the par 71, 6,830 yard course. Salah finished two over, shooting 71 on Saturday and 73 on Sunday, topping the leaderboard by three strokes.
R-Freshman Will Smittle (Scarsdale, NY) also finished in the top-10, tying for seventh overall with a 151. Smittle shots a 76 and a 75 over the two-days. Freshman Sam Barber (North Bay, Ontario) tied for 10th with a 153, carding a 77 and a 76.
The Pioneers are off until the 2012 Northeast Conference Championship on May 4th through 6th.
