SOMERSET, N.J. - Sacred Heart men's golf senior David Renski (North Stonington, Conn.) won his second Northeast Conference Golfer of the Week award after taking home the individual title at the New England Championship in Newport, R.I. last week.

Renski led throughout both days of the two-day tournament on the par-72, 7,244-yard course. He shot and identical one-under par 71 for each round to finish two-under at 142. Renski helped the Pioneers to a second place finish in the 13 team field. It was his second win of the season after placing first at the Lonnie Barton Invitational, hosted by Long Island, last month.

This is the second straight week that a Sacred Heart golfer has been honored as the player of the week by the NEC.  Last week, junior Joseph Serrantino (Cromwell, Conn.) earned his first career Player of the Week nod.  Renski was also named this week's Enterprise Rent-A-Car/Sacred Heart University Student-Athlete of the Week.

Sacred Heart is off until the Northeast Conference Championship at the end of the month.
