Men’s Golf Competes at Rain-Shortened Hartford Invitational

SOUTH KENT, Conn. – Inclement weather ended the Hartford Hawks Invitational 18 holes early on Tuesday afternoon.  The Sacred Heart University men's golf team completed the two-round tournament, hosted by the University of Hartford at Bull's Bridge Golf Course, in seventh out of a field of 15 teams.

Junior Joseph Serrantino (Cromwell, Conn.) and sophomore Joshua Salah (Gloucester, Mass.) each shot a 77 for the Pioneers in round two.  Salah finished in a tie for 15th overall with a two-day total of 150.  Serrantino's 77 followed a first round score of 76 to finish at 153 for the tournament.

Senior David Renski (North Stonington, Conn.) tied Serrantino with a 153 after shooting a 75 yesterday and a 78 today.  Junior Leopoldo Garcia (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) also shot a 78 today to total 155 for the tournament.

Also competing for SHU, senior Andrew Storm (Endwell, N.Y.) shot a 78 and a 79, respectively.

The Pioneers are back on the links when they tee off at the McDonald Cup, hosted by Yale, on Saturday October 2.
