Sacred Heart senior quarterback Dale Fink (Swansea, IL) and junior wide receiver Rich Rossi (Moosic, PA) were named to the All-Northeast Conference second team offense. This is the third appearance by Fink on the all-league team and the first for Rossi.
Fink's 8,803 career passing yards place him atop the NEC's all-time leader board ahead of former record-holder Anthony Doria (8,544), a Saint Francis (PA) alumnus. Throwing for three touchdowns against Albany (November 6th), Fink set the NEC's career mark for touchdown passes by eclipsing former RMU great Tim Levcik (76). Fink, who set 13 program records, totaled 82 scoring strikes during his four-year career.
In 2010, Fink led the Northeast Conference's top-ranked passing offense (268.7 ypg) while he was tops among the league's signal callers in averaging 264.3 yards per game. He also led the NEC in total offense (253.9 ypg), completions (266) and yards passing (2,907). He ranked third in completion percentage (60.7) and third and touchdown passes (18).
Nationally, Fink ranked third among NCAA leaders in passing completions per game (24.18 pg), 10th in total passing yards (2,907) and 11th in passing yards per game (264.3). The Pioneer passing attack ranked 12th in the nation this season.
Rossi, who split time at both tight end and wide receiver, enjoyed a breakout season in 2010. He ranked second among NEC pass catchers in both receptions (51) and receiving yards (704) this fall. Rossi averaged 64.0 yards per game and 13.8 yards per catch in 2010. He finished the year with five touchdown catches.
The junior receiver twice eclipsed the 100-yard receiving mark in a game this season. He turned in a nine catch, 108 yard and a score performance in a early season loss to Robert Morris. Rossi caught a career-high 11 passes for 150 yards and a score against Albany.
