Williams and Dion Compete in Day One of NCAA Fencing Championships

(Columbus, OH) – Sacred Heart Men's Fencers Justin Dion (North Attleboro, MA) and Marty Williams (Plainfield, NJ) completed their first day competing in the NCAA Fencing Championships at Ohio State University Thursday afternoon.

Williams, competing in sabre, went 9-5 on the day and is ranked seventh out of 24 fencers.  Dion went 6-8 in epee, and is ranked 15th out of 24 fencers. Overall, Sacred Heart is ranked 13th as a team out of 24 schools.

Williams is still in contention to become Sacred Heart's first male All-American (on the second team) with a strong Day Two.
