Pioneers Compete in IHSA Competition at CCSU

On a cold day with glimmers of sunshine and a blustering wind the Sacred Heart Equestrian Team traveld to Windcrest Farm in Hebron, CT to compete in IHSA competition hosted by Central Connecticut State. The judge for the day was Ann Jamieson. The Pioneers had a successful day with senior Abbie Britton placing fourth in the Open Flat and junior Devan Beaulieu placing sixth in the event.

In Open Fences, Britton took second and senior Brian Buchanan placed fourth. In the Intermediate division, senior Nicole D'Agostino placed fifth on the flat. This was D'Agostino's first time competing in Intermediate Flat, after pointing up at the last show.

Sophomore Allie Buccos placed third in Flat and 1st in Fences.  Senior Adrianna Dattoli placed fifth in Fences.  In the Novice Division, freshmen Cortney Sevigny and Ashley Alaimo placed second on the flat. Junior Meagan Korolyshun won her section of Novice Flat. Over fences, Sevigny and sophomore Arielle Pagano placed first in their section and Alaimo placed fifth.

In  Walk/Trot/Canter, freshman Taylor Robbins and sophomore Maggie Vogel placed first in their section.  Junior Emma Joseph placed third in Walk/Trot.  Qualifying for Regionals at this competition, Sevigny in Novice Fences.  The Pioneers placed second overall with 37 points while Fairfield took the win with 38 points.
