ANDOVER, Mass. — George Sutherland put the Sacred Heart University baseball team up by one run in the sixth inning, but it wasn't enough in a narrow 3-2 loss at Merrimack. The graduate transfer brought home Sam Mongelli and Ryan Donnelly in the first and sixth innings to grab the short lead for the Red & White on Sunday.

In three consecutive at-bats in the opening inning, the bases were loaded as George Sutherland walked to allow Sam Mongelli to cross the plate. Sutherland's second RBI came five frames later off a single to right field that allowed Ryan Donnelly to score and put SHU up, 2-1.
The Warriors opened the bottom of the sixth with a home run out of the right field to knot the game at two, followed by the winning run two batters later off a sacrifice fly to centerfield.
Mongelli leads the team with 13 runs scored on the season, followed by Donnelly in second with 12.
