  • Women’s Cross Country Finishes 29th at 2019 NCAA Northeast Regionals

    Racing against the best competition the Northeast has to offer, the Sacred Heart women’s cross country team posted a 29th place finish out of 37 teams on a modified road course on Friday morning. Harvard claimed the victory with 92 team points on the day while the Pioneers’ 29th place result matches their 2018 NCAA Northeast Regional finish.
  • Three All-Conference Performers Lead Women’s Cross Country to Runner-Up Finish at NEC Championship

    The Sacred Heart women’s cross country team landed three runners on the All-Northeast Conference team as the Pioneers finished second at the conference championship meet, hosted by Central Connecticut State on Saturday morning at Stanley Quarter Park. Sacred Heart finished with 71 points in their bid to reclaim the league title, finishing behind repeat champion CCSU who dominated the day with 38 points.
  • Thorne Scores Top 10 Finish, Leading Women’s Cross Country at UVM’s Fall Foliage Invitational

    Racing in the picturesque surroundings in northern Vermont, the Sacred Heart women’s cross country team placed third out of four teams on Saturday in the Fall Foliage Invitational hosted by the University of Vermont. The host Vermont claimed the team victory with 18 points while the Pioneers took third with 81 team points.
  • Kathleen Delaney Earns NEC Rookie of the Week Honors

    Sacred Heart women’s cross country first-year Kathleen Delaney was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon. This marks the second NEC Rookie of the Week honoree for the Pioneers as Kayla Grant earned the award back on Sept. 8.
  • Women’s Cross Country Places 12th at the New England Championships

    The Sacred Heart women’s cross country team showed well on Saturday in the New England Championships, placing 12th out of 22 teams at Franklin Park in the annual gathering of the top teams across the Northeast. Racing against the top competition across all NCAA Divisions in the Northeast, the Pioneers finished just one spot lower than their 11th place result last season. New Hampshire claimed the team victory in the varsity event.
  • Women’s Cross Country Takes Fourth Place at Ted Owen Invitational

    After a three-week span between competitions, the Sacred Heart women’s cross country team was back in action on Saturday, placing fourth out of 19 teams at the Ted Owen Invitational held at Stanley Quarter Park. Lehigh claimed the team victory with 28 points, 42 more than the runner-up and host CCSU Blue Devils (70 points). The Pioneers finished the day with 120 team points and seven runners within the Top 40 finishers.
  • Kaylah Grant Named NEC Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week

    Sacred Heart women’s cross country first-year Kayla Grant was named the Northeast Conference’s Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Thursday afternoon. This announcement continues a string of 17 straight seasons (since 2003) in which the Pioneers have garnered at least one Rookie of the Week winner.
  • Women’s Cross Country Competes in UMass Invitational

    Racing against some of the top competition in the Northeast, the Sacred Heart women’s cross country team placed fourth out of five teams on Saturday at the UMass Invitational. Regional power Boston College claimed first place in the team standings as five Eagles placed Top 5 overall, UConn followed in second while the host UMass placed third and WPI rounded out the field in fifth place.
  • Women’s Cross Country Places Fourth at Stony Brook in 2019 Season Opener

    The Sacred Heart women’s cross country team opened the 2019 campaign on Saturday morning with a fourth place showing out of six teams at the Stony Brook Invitational. The four kilometer meet, hosted by Stony Brook University, also featured Fordham, Quinnipiac, LIU and Hunter.
  • Women’s Cross Country Announces 2019 Slate; Picked Third in NEC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

    Sacred Heart head cross country head Christian Morrison has announced the women’s cross country team’s schedule for the upcoming 2019 campaign. The slate features six regular season meets leading up to the Northeast Conference Championships in early November. In addition, the Pioneers were picked third in the NEC Preseason Coaches’ Poll, as announced by the league office on Twitter this afternoon.
