Ciszek Named Molten/NEC Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week For Fourth Time This Season

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Sacred Heart University women's volleyball freshman Sarah Ciszek was named the Molten/NEC Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league Monday afternoon.

This is the fourth time this season that Ciszek has been named Rookie of the Week, totaling five weekly awards so far this season, as she earned Player of the Week honors once as well this season.

In a 1-1 weekend for the Pioneers, Ciszek totaled 68 assists, 23 digs, 13 kills and two blocks. In eight sets, she averaged 8.50 assists, 2.88 digs and 1.62 kills per set. In a five-set loss against Bryant, Ciszek registered a double-double with 36 assists and 17 digs, while adding six kills. In a three-set win over Central Connecticut, Ciszek totaled 32 assists, seven kills and six digs. Ciszek currently leads the NEC this season with 9.10 assists per set.

Sacred Heart currently holds a 14-9 (7-5 NEC) record and will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 9 when the Pioneers travel to take on NEC-foe Saint Francis University.
