FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Sacred Heart University women's volleyball freshman Sarah Ciszek was named the Molten/NEC Co-Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league Monday afternoon.
This is the second week in a row where Ciszek has been named the Rookie of the Week.
In a 1-1 week for the Pioneers, Ciszek totaled nine kills, 58 assists, and 26 digs. She averaged 1.50 kills per set, 9.67 assists per set and 4.33 digs per set. Ciszek posted a double-double with 34 assists and 14 digs in the 3-0 victory over St. Francis (N.Y.). She followed that performance with another double-double against LIU Brooklyn, posting 24 assists and 11 digs in the loss. Ciszek's 9.17 assists per set average leads the conference by a wide margin.
Sacred Heart currently holds a 8-5 (1-1 NEC) record and will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 28 when the Pioneers travel to Teaneck, N.J. to take Fairleigh Dickinson at 5 p.m.
