ALL-NEC HONOREES

SOMERSET, N.J. – Sacred Heart women's track and field saw senior Emma Cary earn All-NEC Second Team honors while the distance medley relay team (Bianca De Lucia, Olivia Kneski, Jacqueline Thorne and Olivia Weiss) picked up All-NEC Second Team honors and Nicole Szilagyi rounded out the All-Conference honorees with an All-Rookie selection.

Cary picked up her first career All-NEC honor as she placed second in the 5000m at the 2019 NEC Indoor Championships with a personal-best time of 17:50.85.

The DMR grouping of De Lucia, Kneski, Thorne and Weiss showed very well at the NEC Championships as they finished second with a time of 12:08.96. The Pioneers very nearly picked up a first-place finish as Mount St. Mary's took first place with a time of 12:08.45, just 0:00.51 seconds faster than SHU.

Szilagyi rounded out SHU's All-NEC selections with the top-finishing spot in the 60m hurdles event among NEC rookies at the Indoor Championships. Szilagyi placed 10th overall while crossing the line with a personal-best time of 9.41 seconds.

The Pioneers are back in action with the start of the outdoor season on Saturday with an appearance at the Wesleyan Spring Classic Invitational.
