Women's Tennis Defeats SFU 4-1 in Quarterfinals of NEC Championships

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. The #4 Sacred Heart University Women's Tennis team defeated #5 Saint Francis (Pa.) 4-1 in the quarterfinals of the NEC Championships this morning. The Pioneers will face #1 seed LIU Brooklyn tomorrow in the semi-finals with a 9:00 a.m. start time.

In singles, junior Brianne Lauria won her match against Lucia Seigford 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 while sophomore Lauren Santarsiero defeated Romina Cutipa 7-5, 5-4 even though the match was unfinished. Senior Sabrina Navarro and junior Adiranne Alfonso both won their matches by default. 

In doubles play, the duo of senior Olivia Podsiebierski and Sabrina Navarro would defeat Lucia Seigford and Romina Cutipa 7-6 (7) while the pairing of Adrianne Alfonso and sophomore Laura Crievi won their match by default.
