Women's Tennis Lands Shutout Against Monmouth 7-0

NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University Women's tennis team defeated Monmouth this afternoon by a final score of 7-0 to earn the team's first dual match win of the season. The team returns to action on November 7 when they head to Arizona to compete in the ITA Fall Nationals.

The Pioneers dominated both singles and doubles play as SHU swept the Hawks in all six singles matches and in all three doubles matches. Junior Brianne Lauria and sophomore Lauren Santarsiero had the best singles play as they won in just two games to win the match in a commanding fashion. In doubles play the Pioneer duo's controlled strong leads in each game to win the matches in just one game.
