SOMERSET, N.J.- Sacred Heart University softball senior Emily Orosco was named Northeast Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week for her dominate performance over the past week. This is the first Pitcher of the Week Award that Orosco has received this season.
Orosco had an impressive week going 3-0 while tallying a ERA of 1.94 and struck out 19 batters. She tallied her three wins against Robert Morris and Bryant allowing just a total of five runs on just 11 hits. She has won four straight games for the Pioneers as she took the win against Fairfield that came on April 25. Orosco currently has an 11-5 record with one save while tallying an ERA of 2.56 and has struck out a total of 136 batters.
The Pioneers will return to action on Thursday, May 9 when SHU competes in the NEC Softball Tournament against Saint Francis U at 3:30 p.m. The game will be streamed on NEC Front Row.
