Jamie Carlson Throws No Hitter, As SHU Sweeps Hartford 10-0 and 5-2

The Sacred Heart softball team travelled down to Hartford, to play their last non-conference contest, in a double header with the Hawks of Hartford. The Pioneers brought their bats to the game, as they put up 10 runs in game one, off of 13 hits. SHU rolled into game two, as they defeated Hartford 5-2. The Pioneers look to wrap up NEC regular season play as they take on Fairleigh Dickinson this weekend.



  • Jamie Carlson threw a no hitter in game one, marking her first of the season, and first of her career with the Pioneers 
  • Katelyn Christian, and Victoria D'Addario would both finished game one 3 for 3, bringing in a total of five RBI's
  • Jessica Dubbioso hit her first career homerun
  • The Pioneers posted at least a run in all five innings of the game

  • Coming fresh off a sweep over Robert Morris, the Pioneers were looking sharp at the plate, picking up two runs in the opening inning. Katelyn Christian would get the rally going with a double to right center, followed by a a sinlge form Fallon Bevino to bring in Christian. The second run would come after a Kristen McCann single to left field, bringing Victoria D'Addario in
  • Similar to the first inning, the Pioneers would put up an additional two run in the second, as Lauren Delgadillo, and Hailey Desrosiers would single, with Christian singling to center bringing in Delgadillo. D'Addario would roping a double to right field, that would bring in Desrosiers to put SHU up 4-0
  • The Pioneers blew things open in the third, as Andrea Sidor hit a solo homerun, followed by a three run home run from Christian to move the score to 8-0
  • Jessica Dubbioso would join the home run club, as she put out a solo home run in the top of the fourth to put SHU ahead 9-0, as Sacred Heart would take game one 10-0 in mercy rule fashion
  • Jamie Carlson would take the win on the mound, throwing a no hitter, and striking out seven batters

  • Christian would pick up a single in the first inning, but SHU wouldn't pick up a run, till the second on a two out rally, where both runs would come unearned on after an error
  • SHU would catch some momentum in the top of the 5th as Andrea Sidor would reach on an error to start things. Desrosier would sinlge to left field to bring in Sidor, giving SHU a 3-0 advantage
  • SHU would add two more run for insurance in the top of the 7th, as Cierra Casale would double down the right field line to bring in Delgadillo, and eventually score off a throwing error moving the final score to 5-0
  • The final score of game two would be 5-2 as Hartford would pick up two runs in their final at a bat.
  • This week's NEC Prime Performer, Kristen McCann went the distance in game two, allowing only six hits, and striking out eight batters
