14 Pioneers Earn Easton/NFCA All America Scholar Athlete

FAIRFIELD, CONN. (October 10, 2016)—Fourteen was the magic number for the Pioneers as 14 members of the Sacred Heart softball team earn the honor of Easton NFCA All America Scholar Athlete and the team's overall GPA of 3.527 was ranked 14th in the country as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. 

"We are extremely proud of our student-athletes for excelling in the classroom," said Co-Head Coach Elizabeth Luckie. "They work hard on and off the field to be not only dedicated to softball, but to their academics."

The NFCA honored over 5,000 student-athletes across the nation for earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the 2015-16 academic year. Amongst those we 1,240 from the NCAA Division I ranks including Pioneers Fallon Bevino (Milford, Conn.), Linsey DeDomenico (Northford, Conn.), Kelyn Fillmore (Simi Valley, Calif.), Hannah Ford (New Fairfield, Conn.), Addison Landry (North Falmouth, Mass.), Courtney Machamer (Williamstown, Pa.), Stephanie Mangiameli (Middlefield, Conn.), Emily Orosco (Camarillo, Calif.), Andrea Sidor (North Vancouver, British Columbia), Lindsey Spitz (Shelton, Conn.), Danielle Tenney (Claremont, N.H.), Dani Warnken (Bayport, N.Y.), McKenna Wiegand (Gilbert, Ariz.) and Carina Zupa (Glen Cove, N.Y.).
