A dynamic athlete in her time as a student-athlete at SHU, Amanda Celicourt (formerly Williams) officially joined the women's lacrosse coaching staff in September 2014 and is now entering her sixth season as an assistant coach with the Pioneers. Celicourt was a distinguished Pioneer, finishing her career as a two-time NEC Champion (2008-09) while accumulating 136 goals and 43 assists for 179 points across 72 games in her four-year career.
An accomplished individual, Celicourt's primary day-to-day duties with the Pioneers stretch from developing and implementing daily practice and game plans to scheduling bi-weekly academic meetings wherein the student-athletes are mentored to achieve both in and out of the classroom. Celicourt also works closely with the team budget, SHU admissions office to track eligibility while following NCAA rules, planning the team's community service and fundraising efforts and tracking prospective student-athlete's academic merit and athletic scholarship packagaes.
Celicourt comes to SHU with an extensive coaching background as she served as the head coach for St. Luke's High School in New Canaan, Connecticut for two seasons prior to joining the Pioneers. Among her many duties at St. Luke's included an all-encompassing program responsible for implementing consistency from the sixth grade to the high school varsity level. She created daily training sessions, developed tryout guidelines and practice plans and expectation for all players and coaches, managed the team roster and all aspects of team travel for scheduled games and planned specialty clinics.
She continues to serve as the head coach for the Connecticut Grizzlies and is now entering her 10th season with the travel program. Celicourt also served as head coach of the Westport Police Athletic League from 2008-13 and as the head coach for Darien Youth Lacrosse from 2009-15.
Celicourt is a 2009 graduate of SHU, earning a bachelor's degree as a double major in sports management and finance. She currently resides in Norwalk with her husband and two children.
