Women's Hockey Defeat Post 4-0

Shelton, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team defeated Post University 4-0 on Saturday at the SportsCenter of Connecticut in Shelton to wrap up their two game series.

Haley Payne opened the scoring at the 13:10 mark, assisted by Maddie Bishop and Victoria Grimmer on the power play to give SHU a one goal advantage going into the second period.

In the second period Brittany Smith added her first of the game and fourth of the home-and-home series. Julianna Lynch made it 3-0 for the Pioneers assisted by Taylor Moreland and Jayne Lewis.

Just 17 seconds into the third period Meghan Kebalka would complete the scoring for SHU again assisted by Moreland and Lewis.

SHU's Sarah Erban stopped 13 shots, while Post's Jenna Baumgartner made 54 stops.
 
Sacred Heart are back in action Friday January 26 against Holy Cross at 7:30 pm and the Sports Center Of Connecticut
