REISTERSTOWN, Md. - The Sacred Heart women's ice hockey team fired three goals past Stevenson University in a 3-0 win on Friday evening.
After a scoreless first period the Pioneers scored just 1:42 into the second period with a goal by Carly Radovich, assisted by Teagan Ketchum to break the scoreless tie before Stevenson outshot Sacred Heart, 11-3 the rest of the period.
Devan Kane knocked away all 11 shots by the Mustangs to keep the Pioneers lead at one going into the second intermission.
Jayne Lewis gave Sacred Heart a two-goal lead at the 6:18 mark of the third period before Carly Radovich notched her second goal of the game to give the Pioneers a 3-0 lead with 8:07 remaining in regulation.
SHU outshot Stevenson 35 to 23 for shots on goal, Devan Kane had 23 saves on the night with Stevenson's Catie Darosa making 35 saves.
