BLOOMFIELD, Conn. — The Sacred Heart University women's golf team concluded its play at the Hartford Fall Invitational, finishing 4th out of eight teams on Sunday.
The Pioneers finished with a team score of +78 and a 638 total. Host Hartford won the invitational, finishing +42 and a 602 total.
Ana Contreras led the way for the Pioneers, finishing sixth out of 46 competitors, shooting 12-over par and 152 for the weekend. Contreras' best shot in round two, where she shot a 4-over par.
Chelsea Sedlar finished tied for eighth in the tournament after shooting 16-over par and 156 for the weekend. Sedlar shot 6-over par in the second round, which was her best round.
Hana Bowman finished third in SHU's grouping and tied for 22nd overall, shooting 23-over par. Maya Isom and Lauren Pelster rounded out the group, shooting 27-over par and 29-over par respectively.
Christina Massei, who competed as an individual and finished tied for 15th after shooting 19-over par for the weekend. Massei was tied for 10th after day one, shooting a 79.
The Pioneers are back in action on Friday, Oct. 5 when they take part in the Yale Women's Invite, held at the course at Yale.
