Bamford and Jones Earn All-NEC Honors for Women's Bowling

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart University women's bowling had two student athletes earn all-conference honors, as Rachel Bamford was named to the All-NEC First Team and Colby Jones to the Second Team as announced by the league Friday afternoon.

Bamford's All-Conference accolade is the first of her career. In NEC competition, Bamford's 19.73 pins per frame ranks seventh and has totaled 82 strikes. Her 19.58 pins per frame in traditional matches ranks seventh as well in conference matches. Bamford's 19.80 pins per frame in baker matches tabs her fifth. Bamford boasts a 91.8% single pin spare percentage which ranks sixth, while her 8.965 individual first ball average pinfall places her third.

Jones' All-Conference accolade is also the first for the sophomore. In NEC competition, Jones has totaled 88 strikes and her 19.56 pins per frame ranks 10th. Jones 20.19 pins per frame in traditional matches ranked fifth, while her striking percentage of 45.8% ranks seventh.

The Pioneers will be back in action on Friday, March 22, when SHU takes part in day one of the NEC Championships.
