FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart women's basketball graduate student Katherine Haines picked up Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon. Haines splits the weekly award with Amy O'Neill of Saint Francis Brooklyn.
Haines' weekly award gives her five on the season, the most of any player in the league. The honor comes on the heels of another dominant week, posting consecutive double-doubles in impressive victories over league powers Saint Francis U and Robert Morris.

Her week started with 18 points (8-16 FG), 15 rebounds and four assists as the Pioneers handed the Red Flash their biggest loss in NEC play since the 2012-13 season. Haines' 15 rebounds matched a season-high while her four-assist total is her second-highest single-game total on the season.
She continued her strong play on Monday, posting 15 points, 11 rebounds and two assists in 40 minute against Robert Morris' top-ranked defense in the NEC. Haines' 13th double-double of the season redeems a road loss suffered by the Pioneers at RMU in late January that saw Haines finish with seven points on 2-for-10 shooting.
For the week, Haines pumped in 16.5 PPG, 13.0 RPG and 3.0 APG across 37.0 MPG to lead the Pioneers to a pair of wins that clinched the No. 2 seed for the 2019 NEC Tournament.
Haines and SHU wrap up the regular season on Thursday night as the Pioneers take on Mount St. Mary's in Maryland.
