Abigail Kangudie made the first start of her collegiate career a memorable one and Candice Leatherwood displayed her scoring prowess as SHU kept the game out of LIU Brooklyn's reach, 50-46, Saturday afternoon at the Steinberg Wellness Center. The victory ended a three-game drought for the Pioneers.

SHU beat St. Francis Brooklyn, 66-60, Saturday afternoon at the Pitt Center.

The Pioneers led from start to finish working up their largest lead of 18 points at the 9:24 mark of the fourth quarter. The Terriers were able to get it down to three points with the shot-clock turned off as Jade Johnson went 1-of-2 at the free-throw line but the Pioneers went on a 3-0 run to end the game.

Graduate transfer Denisha Petty-Evans and senior DeAngelique Waithe each scored 15 points to lead the LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team to a 62-53 victory over the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights Saturday afternoon at the Rothman Center.
