MBWA Official Release

NEW YORK, NY – Junior guard Erin Storck has been named Honorable Mention for the Week by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association in women's division I as announced by the committee Tuesday afternoon. The designations, for games played December 4-10, are unique in that they encompass players from 74 Met area schools across Divisions I, II and III.

The accolade becomes the second weekly recognition for the junior as she was recently tabbed the Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week.

Storck campaigned Sacred Heart's offense as the Commack, NY native averaged 26 points and 2.5 boards through a two-game production.

In a visit to Ivy League member Brown, Storck advanced her career-high through two quarters against Brown registering 18 points behind the intermission. She would add five more second-half points to cement her personal-best by the conclusion. The junior shot 47.3-percent from the floor and 66.7-percent from distance while also collecting a pair of boards and a theft.

Storck rewrote her career-high three days later against BIG EAST member Providence. Committing most of her damage from inside the arc, the guard shot 66.7-percent from the field against the then eighth-ranked three-point shooting Friars finishing with 29 points. She also amassed three rebounds, a helper and four makes at the charity stripe in 39 minutes out on the floor.

Sacred Heart has paused the action for finals week but resumes play in Loudonville, NY to take on Siena Sunday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m.
