SOMERSET, NJ – After rewriting her career-high tally twice, junior Erin Storck won Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week honors for her production in week five as announced by the league office, Monday afternoon.
In a 1-1 week for SHU women's hoops, the Commack, NY native spearheaded the Pioneers' offense pouring in 26 points per game accompanied by 2.5 boards as she garners the conference accolade for the first time of her career.
Against Ivy League member Brown, Storck trumped her personal best record through the first 20 minutes of action putting up 18 points in the first half before finishing with 23. She shot 47.3-percent from the floor and 66.7-percent from downtown while also collecting a pair of boards and a steal.
Three days later, Storck improved her career superlative emitting a game-high 29 points against BIG EAST member Providence. The junior swished just one trey as she hectored then eighth-ranked three-point shooting Friars from mid-range territory, 12-of-18 (66.7-percent). She also recorded three rebounds, an assist and four makes at the charity stripe in 39 minutes out on the floor.
Saturday, she became just one of three different NEC players to notch at least 29 points in a contest this season. Such feat has dubbed her SHU's new current leading scorer (16.7ppg) while slotting her second in the conference.
Sacred Heart is off this week but returns to play in Loudonville, NY when it pays a visit to Siena Sunday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m.
