Wrestling Releases 2019-20 Schedule

FAIRFIELD, Conn.- The Sacred Heart Wrestling Team released its 2019-20 schedule Tuesday, starting with the Journeyman Classic on November 9 where SHU will face Utah Valley and LIU in Albany, N.Y. The Pioneers will be hosting a total of six duals this year while wrestling against seven EIWA opponents. The team also is expected to face off against nine teams the team faced last year.

  • SHU will hit the road to compete at the Keystone Classic which will be hosted by the University of Pennsylvania on November 24.
  • The Pioneers kick off the month of December at the Cliff Keen Invitational the will be from December 6-7. The Pioneers will then have a dual match at EIWA rival Binghamton to conclude the month on Dec. 20 with a 1:00 p.m. start time.
  • SHU hits the new year at the David Lehman Open hosted by Franklin and Marshall which takes place Saturday, Jan. 4.
  • The Pioneers then welcome in VMI for the team's home opener on Sunday, Jan. 12 that will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Pitt Center.
  • A week later SHU is back on the road for a three-game road stand first at Franklin and Marshall on Jan. 19 (2:00 p.m.) followed by AIC on Jan. 24 (7:00 p.m.) and wrap up the road stand at Bucknell on Jan. 26 (2:00 p.m.)
  • The Pioneers then host Davidson and Cal Baptist on Saturday Feb 1 with matches beginning at 12:00 p.m. against Davidson then Cal Baptist at 1:30.
  • SHU will then host two more duals first against Bloomsburg on Sunday Feb. 9 at 2:00 p.m. then a week later against Columbia on Feb. 16 at 2:00 p.m.
  • SHU will conclude the regular season first at LIU and Hofstra on Feb. 22 with the LIU match scheduled for 11:00 a.m. followed by Hofstra at 2:00 p.m.
  • The final dual will take place a day later at home as the Pioneers host Brown at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23. 
  • The Pioneers look to once again reach the EIWA Championships which will be in  Binghamton, N.Y. from March 6-7 . After the EIWA Championships, SHU looks to head to the NCAA's on March 19-21 in Minneapolis, MN.
