Schuster Takes Second Place At Keystone Classic

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Junior Conan Schuster came in second place in the 174-pound weight class at the Keystone Classic Sunday, hosted by Penn.

Schuster started off with a bye then worked his way up with win three dominating matches. He defeated Steven Nelson of Rider with a major decision 10-0, Nick Kee of Appalachian State 12-6, and Harvard's Josef Johnson in a technical fall. Schuster's day ended with a loss in the championship match to Nathan Jackson of Indiana by 10-6.

Johnny Vrasidas went 2-2 in the 165 weight class. Vrasidas lost his first match against Ray Beathea of Penn but gained two consecutive wins in the wrestlebacks. He ended with a loss to Shabaka Johns of VMI by decision 11-6.

A select group of wrestlers also participated in the Mat Town Open at Lock Haven on Sunday. Zak Evans was 2-2 in the 141-pound bracket.

Sacred Heart will host their first home dual meet of the season on Saturday, December 5th at 6pm against Davidson for the second Pioneerpalooza.
