FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Sacred Heart Wrestling participated in the "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" event in downtown Fairfield on May 2 to benefit the Center for Family Justice and to raise awareness about domestic and sexual violence.
"As wrestlers we pride ourselves on toughness, and this event allows us to showcase our toughness by standing up for noteworthy cause," said head coach Andy Lausier. "One in four women will experience some form of abuse from a man in their lifetime. So on Saturday, we wore our singlets and some fashionable women's shoes as we walked the streets of Fairfield to let everyone know that SHU Wrestling is comprised of men who will stand up to domestic violence."
